HUMBLE (part 2)

Remember your creator and honor your maker. James 4:10 Humble yourselves before the Lord, and He will lift you up.

            

There may be times where you think that you deserve to be praised for the hardwork that you do, the good deed you portrait, being the smartest one in the room or even when you're doing great in life. In those times, we tend to forget about our Creator, God the Father up in heaven, we think of our own self; we become selfish; we sin against God. At times we think we have it all, we think of our own self, our own strength, our own will, our money, our power, our status, above anything else and we tremble, we fall short of God's glory. The Bible tells us that every good gift and every perfect present comes from heaven, it comes down from God, the Creator of the heavenly lights who does not change or cause darkness by turning (James 1:17). The moment you want to you think higher of yourself, remember your Creator, remember God that brought you this far. God will set you at your right place. God will break you to position you. God created you, God made you unique and precious in His sight. God will move you to greater heights if you come to Him with a broken heart,  God loves you and does not want you to die of selfishness but live in eternal life with Him. Therefore, we must learn to always submit ourselves to our Creator, offer ourselves as a living sacrifice. We must be humble before God; deny ourselves and obey the Lord. 

Bring it at Jesus feet. When Jesus visited Martha and Mary, Martha chose to sit at Jesus feet and listen to His teachings, Mary on the other hand was being upset with all the work she had to do (Luke 10: 38-42). Be a Martha today and chose to sit at Jesus' feet. We must learn to give our all to God. Give God all your worries and troubles, give God that overdue rent, give God that job application, that relationship with your partner, give God that family problem, that addiction, give God whatever life throws at you, give it to God. Learn to submit your plans, your day, your life to God. Turn to God with whatever season you are in today. 

God will help you. God will rescues you, He will guide you through. Give yourself to the Lord; trust in Him, and He will help you (Psalms 37:5). 

To be able to walk with Christ we need to humble ourselves before Him. To be great, you must be a servant. Jesus Christ, while on earth, was humble. He always submit to God the Father, He always pray to God. He always ask God of what He wants of Him and may God's will alone be done on earth. He even prayed for those that crucified Him. We must develop a life of prayer in this journey with Christ. 

If we are humble, we must deny ourselves. We must allow God to work through us, allow God to use us for His kingdom, allow the Holy Spirit to lead us. Being humble means to consider the need of others before oneself. In our walk with the Lord, we must put His interest before ours in order to receive everlasting blessing. In order to live a Christ-like life, we must be humble and consider the interest of Christ in our lives. 

Being humble also means to appreciate what God gives to us. What God gives to you, no man can ever take it away from you. Appreciate the big and small things that comes to your life. When you acknowledge someone you appreciate them, you show interest towards them and what they do. Let us learn to acknowledge God and accept what God is doing to our lives. In the bible, after Jesus healed the ten men, one of them threw himself to the ground at Jesus' feet and thanked Him (Luke 17:11-19). He was a Samaritan and Jesus said to him, "Get up and go; your faith has made you well.". Let us be thankful for the different seasons we have in life and what God is allowing us to go through. Like the Samaritan man, we must thank God for everything that has happened, is happening and is yet to happen in our lives. Remember that God only gives you what you can take care of. 

When Jesus came to that place, He looked up and said to Zacchaeus, "Hurry down, Zacchaeus, because I must stay in your house today" (Luke 19:5). HURRY DOWN!

Zacchaeus was a chief tax collector in Jericho, a sinner too, Jesus called him that day to be in His house. He can be in your house too today. 

Hurry down may mean for us to get on our knees, kneel before the Most High God. Hurry down may mean for us to humble ourselves before the Lord. Hurry down, may mean for us to get back to God. He will be at our house if we hurry down. Hurry down for God wants to bless you in many ways, God wants to turn the next page of your life, God wants to start a new chapter, God wants to open that closed door. Hurry down for God wants to do big and marvelous things in your life.  

Bow down on your knees and turn away from your sin.

Open your heart to God and let Him break your heart with the what that breaks His. 

NOW IS THE TIME! TODAY IS THE DAY! TURN TO GOD TODAY!

Ephesians 2: 8-9. For it is by God's grace that you have been saved through faith. It is not the result of your own efforts, but God's gift so that no one can boast about it. 

For we are saved by the goodness of God and not of our good works. So we must submit to God at all times, with everything we do and with every thought we come about.

Repent now for the Kingdom of God is near!

For sin pays the wage - death; but God's free gift is eternal life in union with Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 6:23)

HUMBLE (part 1)

Do not harden your heart because the voice of God can not be heard by ears and heart that are harden. (Pastor Manasa Kolivuso).  Zacchaeus was a rich man, a tax collector mentioned in the Bible (Luke 19). He wanted to see Jesus, when he heard that Jesus was passing through. So he climbed a sycomore tree, because he was a little man to be able see Jesus that day. When Jesus saw him, he said, "Hurry down, Zacchaeus, because I must stay in your house today." (Luke 19:5). I would say that Zacchaeus was the luckiest man ever alive on that day. Jesus told Zacchaeus that He would be in his house on that day.
